Students participating in the robotics class at North Middle school will have some new items to program soon.

NMS is one of 18 schools throughout Oregon receiving grants through the Trail Blazers’ Take it to the Court for Education grant program. More than 240 schools applied for grants.

Language Arts and Robotics teacher, Christopher Jelderks, says the grant is a blessing.

"This grant will allow North Middle School to continue to build our robotics program by expanding the offerings that we currently have while replacing much-needed equipment."

The $9,000 grant will be used to purchase programmable Sphero Bolts, Lego Spike Prime Kits, Arduino starter kits, and smartphone-controlled paper airplane kits.
