North Middle School has been named a finalist in this year's Samsung Solve for Tomorrow national competition, receiving $2,500 in tech and classroom supplies. NMS is one of 5 finalists in Oregon and just 300 in the nation!

The school's SMILE Club (Science & Math Investigative Learning Experiences) submitted a proposal to use technology to improve steelhead rescue efforts when creek flows drop. Students will research the issue, develop potential tech tools that can help the process, and then build a prototype.

One state winner will earn a $20,000 prize package and move on for a chance at $100,000!
